KEYNOTE: THE 100 HOUR DAY: CELLPHONES, SOCIAL MEDIA, GENERATIONAL COMMUNICATION & WORKPLACE PRODUCTIVITY - Deano Pape:

Convention participants will assess their volume of engagement with their cellphones and other technologies. We will explore how technology affects workplace productivity and, in turn, how this technological engagement affects our interactions with Millennials and Gen Z. In addition, we will examine the effects of AI. We will conclude with appeals to younger generations and workplace trends predicted for 2025 and beyond.

DIGITATION, COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION - Webster County Recorder Lindsay Laufersweiler:

ALTA PAST PRESDENT DANIEL MENNENOH, ITP, NTP:

Daniel D. Mennenoh, ITP, NTP, began his career in the title insurance industry in January 1982 when he joined Galena, Illinois based H. B. Wilkinson Title Company (HBW), a privately held title insurance agency established in 1883 in Morrison, Illinois.  He was named president of the company in 1996 upon the retirement of his father, John Mennenoh.  After 39 years with HBW, Mennenoh joined Westcor Land Title Insurance Company as an agency representative for an additional 3 years prior to his retirement in 2023.  Mennenoh was president of the American Land Title Association, (ALTA) from 2016 to 2017, and served as the association’s Abstracters and Title Insurance Agents Section Executive Committee chairman.  He has also served on the association’s Research Committee, Best Practices Task Force, By-Laws Committee, Government Affairs Committee, Membership and Organization Committee, Nominating Committee, and served as chairman of the CEO Search committee.

CHANGE & CONTINUITY - THE STORY OF THE AMANA COLONIES:  Jon Childers, Executive Director, Amana Heritage Society:

Learn how the Community of True Inspiration founded the Amana Colonies, one of the most successful communal religious societies in America. Understand how it transformed its local economy over time to become a leader in agriculture, industry, and tourism in East-Central Iowa.

TEMPERAMENT & OTHER VARIABLES IN WORK DYNAMICS:  Dr. Jeanne Kuckelman:

When a group of people gather daily in the same space to work toward a common goal the result can be chaotic, incredibly fluid, or a bit of both. Whether the space holds a marriage, a family, an athletic team or a group of abstractors, understanding the “back story” can facilitate how those people connect. My passion for the past 23 years has been to see the barriers to healthy and authentic connection between people from all walks of life, navigating all kinds of loss from tragic to the everyday business of work, friendship and family. I help people to see what is not apparent bringing the “back story” to the forefront.
BANQUET ENTERTAINER:  DANNY ADAMS, The Facilitator of Fun!

Laughter is a powerful and often underestimated aspect of human experience that plays a crucial role in various aspects of our lives, including the workplace.   In this engaging session/performance, Danny Adams will share why laughter is important, particularly in the context of productivity in the workplace and overall health.
