Iowa Land Title Association Chain of Title Course Two: Involuntary Alienation

This Course is presented at the University of Northern Iowa IUNI) and transmitted live through Zoom technology to the IFA Conference Room in Des Moines.  Course participants at the Des Moines (and UNI) location will be able to provide questions and receive answers from the instructors during the Course.  
 
All ILTA courses provided through UNI are considered graduate level courses and are designed for persons with at least 3 years of experience in a related field. 

 Course Topics:

  • Court Actions Affecting Real Estate: Liens and Encumbrances; Judgments and Creditor’s Rights; Lis Pendens; Quiet Title Actions; Foreclosure.        
  • Other Court Proceedings: Intestacy; Probate: Conservatorship and Guardianships; Trusts. 
  • Treasurer’s Office: Taxes; Tax Sales and Proceedings; Special Taxes and Assessments.

The exam is required only for persons pursuing the ILTA Certified Land Title Professional designation and requires a 90% exam score to passMembership in the ILTA is required to obtain and maintain the ILTA CLTP designation. More information is available on the ILTA website: ILTA CLTP Program

This course is approved for 7 hours of continuing education credits by the Iowa Real Estate Commission, and 6 hours CLE by the Iowa Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education.

REGISTRATION & FEE PAYMENT DEADLINE:  May 21, 2021 to ensure that course materials, including parking passes, are mailed to you timely in preparation for the course. Course materials will not be mailed until payment in full has been received by the ILTA office. Cancellation Policy: Registration fees will be applied to a future course for cancellations or no-shows in the case of an emergency. In preparation for your visit to the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) for the ILTA Courses, several safety measures have been enacted by IFA for visitors:

  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the IFA conference/training room for course attendees.      
  • The seating in the conference/training room will be arranged to allow for 6 ft. social distancing.

All persons are required to conduct a self-screening before coming to IFA and answer the following four questions:

        3. Have you been instructed to isolate or quarantine because you may have been exposed to a person with COVID-19?  
        4. Are you currently waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test?  

        Did you answer NO to ALL QUESTIONS? You may enter the building .  Did you answer YES to ANY QUESTION? Entry to the building is denied.
